Viva Las Vegas

Finally back on English turf and words can’t describe the experience Vegas has given me as a coach. For nearly every gymnast we took out their it was their first international and they performed like superstars 🌟 and behaved like absolute gems πŸ’Ž In just 5 days we’ve crammed in everything and more…shopping, the big wheel, the fountain show, cirque du soleil + a backstage tour right to the competition itself. We’ve managed to walk away with 24 out of 27 possible medals and taken away with us not 1 but 2 trophies for the team event in 2 out of the 3 category’s we entered! πŸ…πŸ† I could not be prouder of every single one of these fantastic gymnasts and I know that the memories made here will not be forgotten! Thank you so much to everybody involved, not forgetting Ken and Denise back home ☺️ They’ll be an album of many more photos and a video we made whilst on the trip to follow soon! Now time to unpack the endless amounts of shopping when we get home πŸ™ˆπŸ‘œ

11 out of 12 partnerships made podium today and to top things off WGC won the team award in both categories they entered, level 5 and level 6.
The team award was worked out by combining the 3 highest scores from each club. A huge trophy was the reward of course πŸ†
What amazing achievements!!! Well Done to each and everyone of you!!

Yesterday was our wgc girls first day in Vegas, they got themselves out and about as early as possible to the premium outlet to shop until they dropped! Training took place 4:30pm-6pm in preparation for the competition and then back out they went for a spot of sight seeing before bed. Every single gymnast

hasn’t stopped smiling since arrival!

Wednesday 21th February, 27 national development plan gymnasts from Wakefield Gym Club will fly out to compete in the second Las Vegas Acro Cup.

Since June the starlets aged from eight to seventeen have been fundraising to raise more than Β£7,000 towards the total cost of the trip. For most of them

this will be their first ever international competition.
